Parts of a Whole

LuLu Meng's performative installation, "Parts of a Whole," explores the relationship between the individual and the collective.

From LuLu Meng's website: About 1,700 buttons, each containing a distinctive face, were attached to their corresponding buttonhole to hold the entire 9-foot-tall structure, which represents people finding their belonged position in a society. Individual faces are transformed into an array of sameness.
The work was displayed in RIT's William Harris Gallery and later in Brooklyn.
