What is great about your co-op?

What made my co-op truly special was the opportunity to work on marketing for a production company right in the heart of LA, immersed in the entertainment industry. It was a dream come true—there’s nothing quite like it. Along the way, I gained invaluable experience, from graphic design, copywriting, and CRM platforms. Making marketing materials with major brands, such as the NFL, the Grammys, Little Black Book, American Society of Cinematographers, and more. It was a journey of growth and inspiration that I’ll always cherish.

In what ways has Saunders/RIT prepared you for the job market?

Thanks to my incredible marketing professors, like Matthew Vollmer and Sorim Chung, I entered my internship with a solid foundation in some of the work I’d be doing. Their guidance, combined with the hands-on experience I gained in social media marketing through my involvement with organizations like the Black Artists & Records Society and the School of Performing Arts, truly helped me refine my skills. These experiences not only prepared me but also gave me the confidence to excel in a professional setting.

Why did you decide to attend Saunders College of Business at RIT?

I chose Saunders because of its outstanding entrepreneurial programs like the Student Accelerator Program, which aligns with my minor of applied entrepreneurship. What made Los Angeles so exciting for me was discovering just how entrepreneurial the entertainment industry truly is. It was inspiring to see how creativity, production, and business come together in such a dynamic way.

What do you feel is the most distinctive advantage gained from your Saunders experience?

I truly believe Saunders played a pivotal role in preparing me to enter the job market. I leaned heavily on the support of my professors, like Rick Lagiewski and Matthew Vollmer, who provided invaluable guidance with my resume. My assistant dean, Lisa Boice, and my career advisor, Natasha, were also incredible resources, offering support and advice throughout my job search. It was amazing to see how the Saunders team came together to help me during this critical time, ensuring I had the tools and confidence to secure my co-op. Their dedication made all the difference.
