Typography / GRDE 201 Letterform Design Projects
This project required students to select, research and analyze an existing typeface as a point of departure to create their own system of related letterforms. Students selected one of the following letterform groupings to explore their systems: model letters (n h m r u), bowls (b d g p q),obliques (k v w x y z ), cursives (a c e o s), and verticals (i f j l t). Each student gave their new letterform system a cool name and created a book documenting their design process.
