    The First Class Academy, which was first offered last year as a way to help engage and retain students during the pandemic, is an interactive, tuition-free online experience designed to introduce RIT to incoming first-year students.

    Former RIT/NTID women’s soccer standout Mia White to play in Europe

    Mia White, former standout player and captain of RIT’s women’s soccer team, has accepted an invitation to play in Europe for the Primera Regional Madrid league’s Sporting Club Madrid team, a pre-developmental professional academy formerly known as Football Academy Madrid. White will be the only Deaf player on the team.

    Vaccination Updates: On-Campus Clinic Set for June 23

    RIT is hosting a free on-campus vaccination clinic for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine Wednesday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Campus Center, Bamboo Rooms. Students, faculty, and staff ages 18+ are eligible to participate.

    Women’s Basketball Coach Amy Reed receives 2021 Edwina Award

    Almost everyone looks up to RIT’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach Amy Reed, not just because she is 6’ 3’’, but because of her work promoting greater awareness about gender diversity and inclusion. As a result, Reed has been named recipient of the 2021 Edwina Award, which is given to a faculty or staff member for significant contributions to enhance gender diversity and inclusiveness at RIT.

    Celebrating the Tigers’ national championship season

    It’s officially in the NCAA record books: RIT men’s lacrosse won its first national championship in a stunning double overtime classic with a sudden victory goal Sunday. And students, faculty, staff, and alumni gathered Tuesday to celebrate the team in one of the first university community events in 14 months since the start of the global pandemic.

    Recent RIT graduate presented with Distinguished Lee Scholar award

    Chiara Young, a fifth-year biomedical engineering graduate from Sherman, N.Y., received the 2021 Distinguished Lee Scholar award from the Patrick P. Lee Foundation. Young, who graduated in May, was presented with the award based on her integrity, leadership, and service to others. RIT has been a partner school of the Lee Foundation since fall 2019.

    RIT’s COVID-19 Alert Level has returned to Green, meaning the prevalence of the virus in our community and on campus is low.
