A therapeutic game called Space Adventure designed by an RIT class officially launched this month on the Rochester Society for the Protection and Care of Children (SPCC) website. The SPCC specializes in supporting families whose lives have been impacted by trauma.

A new Netflix glassblowing reality series features an RIT alumna as an expert glassmaker. Blown Away, which begins airing July 12 on the streaming platform, follows a group of 10 highly skilled glassmakers who compete in challenges in 10 episodes. Catherine Ayers ’06 (glass) is one of six Corning Museum of Glass experts who assists the two finalists in the last challenge.

Andy Koupal '09 (glass) worked with College of Art and Design interim dean Robin Cass during a weeklong artist-in-residency program Koupal helps manage.

Kirk Lansman '11 (3D Digital Design) has worked at DreamWorks Animation since graduating, first as a character technical director and now as a software engineer.

Designboom features industrial designer Joey Zeledón ’06 (industrial design) and his take on Marcel Breuer’s Cesca chair, combining a continuous steel rod with a coat hangers to create a fully supportive chair.

Andrea Gonzalez Esteche '19 (industrial design MFA), a Fulbright scholar, worked alongside Corning Museum of Glass artists as the 2019 GlassLab Design Fellowship winner. 

Patricia Moore, known as the "Mother of Empathy" for her innovative designs for elderly people, is the 2019 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award winner in the Design Mind category. 

A sculpture by metals and jewelry design professor Carlos Caballero-Perez was recently installed in Fairport, with the piece representing a "Connection" to the village's history. 

Six moving-media projects by students in RIT's new media design and visual communication design programs were honored in the Motion Design Education Summit Fest competition. There were more than 300 submissions from around the world.
