Teaching Assistant Training
The Center for Teaching and Learning, along with the Academic Success Center, offers a series of practical workshops for undergraduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) each semester of the academic year. These workshops prepare TAs to work in and out of the classroom to support student success.
The program starts with a workshop focused on the role of the TA and reviews basic expectations of working as a student employee. Additional short, specialized workshops are offered throughout the semester, covering topics like:
- Classroom management
- TAing in an active learning classroom
- myCourses for TAs
- Facilitating learning
- Working with supported students
If you use TAs in your undergraduate courses, and would like more information about our program, contact ctl@rit.edu.
