RIT’s Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition offers new MS degree in dietetics and nutrition
RIT is offering a new master’s degree in dietetics and nutrition to prepare graduates to become registered dietitian nutritionists with a deep understanding of food as medicine. The two-year graduate program will start in the fall and enrollment is open now.

Teaching STEM by playing with primates
Caroline DeLong, professor and undergraduate program director of psychology, and a team of researchers at RIT and Carnegie Mellon University are exploring the idea of engaging children with STEM skills through the lens of interacting with animals. They are working with a group of olive baboons at Rochester’s Seneca Park Zoo.

RIT researchers explore how to improve emergency management for the Deaf community
Essential emergency services play a key role in saving lives when snowstorms blanket the Northeast or a wildfire erupts out West. However, many communities are still being left out and face communication barriers during emergencies. At NTID, a team of researchers is studying how to identify and bridge gaps in emergency management resources and services for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community.

RIT receives trio of TRIO grants to support underrepresented students over the next five years
RIT received funding from the U.S. Department of Education to continue offering three federal TRIO programs for supporting underrepresented students. RIT earned competitive grants anticipated to total more than $4 million over the next five years to support its McNair Scholars, Upward Bound, and Veterans Upward Bound programs.
