NTID and The Strong National Museum of Play have again partnered to celebrate the richness of Rochester’s Deaf community with a Deaf Day of Play at the museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 5.

When RIT students Julia LaMarra and Celina Alvarado heard about a trip to work on repairing hospital equipment in Guatemala during this past winter break, they jumped at the chance.

Plastic pollutants, the coronavirus, antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the strength of nanowires, and why freshly cut grass smells the way it does—these are some of the topics students from Rochester Prep High School explored during a mentorship program with RIT faculty. They shared their projects and new perspectives during the RIT-Rochester Prep Capstone Showcase held Feb. 6 at RIT.

RIT Certified, which provides a wide range of workforce development and professional training courses, certificates, and skill-based programs, has secured three grants totaling nearly $1.6 million.

When Sarah Mehani landed in Los Angeles in August 2022, her goal was to get more experience and connect with other aspiring filmmakers. She achieved that and more during her time as a rentals intern at AbelCine.

A national institute led in part by RIT marked five years of accelerating the transition to a circular economy in the United States in 2022. The REMADE Institute, founded in 2017 by the U.S. Department of Energy with an initial investment of $140 million, has grown to nearly 160 current members.

RIT opened the doors to its world-class home for cybersecurity in 2020, and it’s making the university one of the best places for cybersecurity education, training, and research.

What started as a program to help RIT students get to know more about the community has also resulted in strengthened partnerships between the university and local organizations.
