Through student clubs and organizations, unique classes and programs, a comprehensive wellness program, and university-led initiatives, students have plenty of opportunities to express themselves, make lifelong connections, and do extraordinary things.

    RIT helps students take an entrepreneurial gap year

    Brandon Hudson is the first student selected for the Gap Year Entrepreneurship Fellows Program, which allows students with an ongoing enterprise to take a year to focus their full attention on the venture. He will receive $15,000 in support and mentoring while also making progress on his RIT degree.

    Catch the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival

    RIT is a major educational sponsor of the community collaborative event, now in its seventh year, and will provide free shuttle bus service to and from campus during the festival weekends. All of the 38 RIT performances and exhibits are free.

    RIT has its first on-campus voting site

    This year for the first time, eligible students at RIT will be able to cast their vote in a general election without leaving campus. The Monroe County Board of Elections is establishing a polling station at RIT’s Gene Polisseni Center.

    RIT this week welcomes its most academically qualified freshman class, with an average SAT score expected to exceed 1300 for the first time. With the new students, total RIT enrollment is expected to surpass 19,000, the highest in history.
