The alumni awards project is designed to recognize the best of the best- alumni who are making an impact in their chosen professions and companies, wider community, or for RIT Croatia.
Alumni can be awarded through three different award categories: Distinguished Alumni Award, Notable Alumni Award, and Early Achievement Award. Below you can find more detailed information about the eligibility criteria, nomination process and selection process for each of the mentioned awards.
After the nomination and selection processes are completed, the chosen recipient(s) will be publicly announced through the Alumni event (or in another format).

Distinguished Alumni Award
Awarded to an alumnus/a, who provided an outstanding service to RIT Croatia or the community and/or made an outstanding contribution in their chosen profession or other area of endeavor at a local, regional or international level.
This award is presented annually.
Eligibility criteria
- Nominees have to be RIT Croatia graduates (individuals awarded a BS or AAS degree from RIT Croatia and/or MS degree from RIT delivered at RIT Croatia campuses).
- Nominees cannot currently be RIT Croatia employees, the alumni president or the vice president of the RIT Croatia Alumni Association, and/or current members of the RIT Croatia Alumni Board.
- Nominees have not been previously awarded in the category for which the nomination is submitted. Previous award winners may be nominated for a different category.
- Nominees must have:
- made an outstanding contribution in their chosen profession or other area of endeavor at a local, regional, or international level, and/or
- given outstanding service to the community, and/or
- given outstanding service to RIT Croatia, and/or
- demonstrated and upheld the values of RIT Croatia, and/or,
- served as an exemplary role model to students, fellow alumni, and the wider RIT Croatia community, and/or
- actively participated in the various activities and/or events organized by RIT Croatia (previous year taken into account), and/or
- have an exemplary record of volunteering their time, talents, and service to local, regional, or international community.
Nomination process
- Any member of RIT Croatia or a wider community, who believes that a certain RIT Croatia alumnus/a deserves this prestigious award, can submit the nomination.
- Self-nominations are accepted.
- Nominations can be submitted via this NOMINATION FORM.
- The final nomination deadline will be announced via email.
- The nominee has to accept the nomination.
- Nominees may be asked to submit further information if required by the Selection Committee (RIT Croatia Alumni Advisory Board members).
- The RIT Croatia Alumni Office and the Selection Committee reserve the right to determine whether a nominated individual(s) are eligible award recipients.
- All nominations will be confidential and shared only between the RIT Croatia Alumni Office, Selection Committee, and selected members of RIT Croatia.
- Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award, will be assessed based on the criteria listed under the eligibility.
- If a nomination is successful, the nominee will be contacted by the RIT Croatia Alumni Office for the next steps.
Selection process
- Selection Committee members are determining the award recipient(s) after reviewing all nominations and eligibility.
- If a nominator or a nominee is part of the Selection Committee, they will be excluded from the selection process.
Notable Alumni Award
This is a professional achievement award. The award is presented to the Alumnus/Alumna for outstanding achievement in any field (government, science, technology, arts, media, business, engineering and more).
The award is presented annually if we have candidates who meet the criteria. If we do not have Nominees each year, it does not have to awarded on an annual basis.
Eligibility criteria
- Nominees have to be RIT Croatia graduates (individuals awarded with a BS or AAS degree from RIT Croatia and/or MS degree from RIT delivered at RIT Croatia campuses).
- Nominees cannot currently be RIT Croatia employees, Alumni President or Vice President of RIT Croatia Alumni chapter, and/or current members of the Alumni Board.
- Nominees have not been previously awarded in the category for which the nomination is submitted. Previous award winners may be nominated for a different category.
- Nominees must have:
- received national recognition, and/or
- held a significant leadership role in a distinguished career and distinguished themselves in their professional fields, and/or;
- served as an exemplary role model to students, fellow alumni and the wider RIT Croatia community, and/or
- demonstrated and upheld the values of RIT Croatia.

- Any member of RIT Croatia or the wider community, who believes a RIT Croatia alumnus, deserves this prestigious award, can submit the nomination.

Early Achievement Award
Recent graduates are entitled to this award. It is presented to the individuals who either have brought a distinction to themselves, to the College or to the community they live in through their career achievement. In essence, similar to Notable Alumni Awards, but targeting younger grads under the age of 30.
The award is presented annually if we have candidates who meet the criteria. If we do not have Nominees each year, it does not have to be awarded annually.
Eligibility criteria
- Nominees have to be RIT Croatia graduates (individuals awarded with a BS or AAS degree from RIT Croatia and/or MS degree from RIT delivered at RIT Croatia campuses).
- Nominees cannot currently be RIT Croatia employees, Alumni President or Vice President of RIT Croatia Alumni chapter, and/or current members of the Alumni Board.
- Nominees have not been previously awarded in the category for which the nomination is submitted. Previous award winners may be nominated for a different category.
- Nominees must:
- be a recent RIT Croatia Graduate (under the age of 30), and/or;
- showcase some kind of unique professional achievement that brought a distinction to the College and the candidate himself, and/or;
- must represent the values of the RIT Croatia and have distinguished themselves in their professional fields (young career impact), and/or;
- received a national recognition.
Nominations
- Any member of RIT Croatia or the wider community, who believes a RIT Croatia alumnus, deserves this prestigious award, can submit the nomination.
