Meal Plans

Our meal plans are built with students in mind. Each plan is crafted to meet diverse eating needs and provide great value and flexibility to accommodate schedules and eating habits. Choose the right plan for you. Check out the dates of when your meal plan is active >

  • Dining Dollars are funds used to purchase only perishable and non-perishable groceries and food items. Dining Dollars may be used at all RIT Dining locations, including vending machines. Food purchased with Dining Dollars is not charged the New York State 8% sales tax (exclusions apply for specific New York State mandated goods).
Any unused Dining Dollars will roll over from the fall to the spring semester. Funds up to $1,000 will roll over after the spring semester until graduation or exit from the University; any funds over $1,000 will be forfeited.

  • Gracie's Meals are fixed all-you-care-to-eat meal swipes valid only at Gracie’s. There is no limit to the number of meals that can be used daily. These meals may be purchased in bundles of five or ten at Tiger Spend. Any unused Gracie’s meals are forfeited at the end of the semester and will not carry over.

Incoming First-Year Students

First-year students living on campus are required to choose a meal plan.

First-year students living in the residence halls are required to choose either the Roar or Roar Plus meal plan. The Roar Plan is the default plan we will add to your account if you do not select a meal plan.

Both plans include Gracie’s Meals and Dining Dollars. Gracie’s is our all-you-care-to-eating dining location serving lunch and dinner. Dining Dollars are debit-based dining funds that can be used at all dining locations on campus.

Summer Meal Plans

If you are living in 175 Jefferson and RIT Inn Conference Center, you are required to have dining funds. $20 per day will be billed to your student account. These funds will be transferred to your dining account based on the number of nights confirmed in the myLife portal. The transfer of funds will be made on the first day of your stay.

If you live in any other RIT Housing, you are not required to have dining funds in our dining account. To add a meal plan for the summer, complete a dining general request form.

Our flexible meal plans make dining on campus easy and convenient. With options for all budgets and appetites, you'll never go hungry at RIT.
