Digital Copyright
Copyright provides the owners of music, movies, photographs, web sites, books, and other intellectual property with exclusive rights including the right to copy, distribute, share, adapt, and sell their works. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is the portion of copyright law that details acceptable digital use of these materials. Here are important RIT resources about the DMCA, legal file sharing, and associated issues that everyone should take the time to read and understand. Questions can always be directed to the RIT Service Center.
