    Four alumni from the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, each of whom has been recognized as either a Pulitzer Prize winner or finalist in the last decade, presented a program at the RIT City Art Space. From left, Edmund Fountain '03 (2010 finalist); David Carson '94 (2015 winner); David Wallace '01 (2018 winner); and Paula Bronstein '78 (2011 finalist) visited the RIT campus for a series of special events from March 19-22. The events were organized by the College of Art and Design's four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer William Snyder, professor and photojournalism undergraduate program director.

    John Shea, a ceramics studio resident this year and a RIT 2011 graduate in ceramics, adds color to a piece during the Studio Arts Walkthrough inside the College of Art and Design on March 21. The annual event allows artists in the College of Art and Design to showcase their creative process in various studio spaces.

    Alexis Scott, a fourth-year graphic design major from Albany, N.Y., visits with a company representative from Saatchi & Saatchi during Creative Industry Day inside Gordon Field House on March 21. The career fair for creatives by creatives includes portfolio reviews, speakers, professional networking and job opportunities. The event brings professionals (many of whom are alumni) from a variety of creative fields to the RIT campus.

    The Concert Band is an ensemble comprised of wind instruments that performs a variety of works including the Sousa marches, British Band literature, Broadway music, the latest compositions, and much more. The band typically performs several times each semester.

    Jeff Davis, associate director of RIT’s Executive MBA program, at the podium, welcomed back alumni to the 16th annual Sharpen the Saw day, hosted by Saunders College of Business on March 15. The daylong program offered professional development and personal advice to graduates of RIT’s Executive MBA program. This year’s speakers included Kip Palmer, president and CEO, Palmer Food Services; Sandy Dominach and Garth Hankinson from Constellation Brands; Jamie Saunders, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Rochester; Andrea Holland, executive coach; and David Naylor, executive vice president, 2Logical. In addition to networking sessions and presentations, participants also attended the dedication of the Lobozzo Center for Executive Education, located in Lowenthal Hall, named for Joseph Lobozzo ’95 (EMBA), founder of JML Optical Industries Inc., and namesake of RIT’s alumni house. Lobozzo, who is a member of the President’s Roundtable and has served on the RIT Board of Trustees, has also earned the Saunders College of Business Distinguished Alumni Award in 2001, the Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award in 2003, RIT Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2006, and the 2017 Nathaniel Rochester Society Award.

    Chloe Arnold's Syncopated Ladies performed as part of the Expressions of King's Legacy program. Tara Setmayer, a CNN Political Commentator, ABC News Political Contributor and former GOP communications director on Capitol Hill, gave the keynote address.

    CNN political commentator Tara Setmayer delivered the keynote address at the annual Expressions of King’s Legacy celebration. In addition to her work as a CNN political commentator, Setmayer is an ABC News political contributor and former GOP communications director on Capitol Hill. For 36 years at RIT, Expressions of King’s Legacy programming has been dedicated to celebrating the life and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

    RIT Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Yunn-Shan Ma, will be joined by guest faculty soloists from across campus for “Once Upon A Time In Italian Film Music” at 7 p.m. March 6 in Ingle Auditorium. The program is hosted by The College of Liberal Arts’ departments of Performing Arts and Visual Culture and Modern Languages and Cultures.

    An all-women hackathon held over the weekend at RIT helped inspire high school and college women interested in the field of computing. The annual WiC Hacks event, hosted by RIT's Women in Computing group, was held March 2-3. More than 200 students from across the Northeast came to build any computing projects they wanted.

    RIT kicked off its 2019 United Way campaign March 4. The university's goal is to raise $400,000. RIT has raised more than $2.1 million in the past six years for the Rochester community. "RIT prides itself on bringing goodness to the world. Please join me in supporting the United Way," President Munson told campus leaders. The Gallina family will lead the 2019 campaign; it's the first time a family will serve as a United Way campaign chair.
