Sen. Hillary Clinton offers the keynote address at Alternative Energy in New York, a conference at the RIT Inn and Conference Center, held on Feb. 2, to address the state’s new-energy investments.

One of many entries in the 2004 Scholastic Art Awards and Exhibition created by area youngsters from a 10-country region. Prize-winning pieces will be displayed at RIT's Bevier Gallery through Feb. 18.

These hand-carved and hand-painted birds are part of collection NTID recently received from the estate of Mildred F. Hall, a longtime friend of RIT and NTID. The collection is on permanent exhibit across from the Dyer Arts Center in the Lyndon Baines Johnson Building.

Alvin Poussaint, physician and technical advisor to The Cosby Show and Little Bill on Nickelodeon, addresses the RIT community in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day, Jan. 15. Prior to his presentation, Poussaint spent time with students discussing their thoughts on race relations and attitudes on campus.

RIT's a cappella group, the Brick City Singers, perform during a multicultural holiday celebration, Dec. 16. Holidays included in the celebration, sponsored by the Center for Residence Life, were Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Winter Solstice, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Bodhi Day, Chinese New Year and St. Nicholas Day.

RIT's Kevin Kochersberger attempts to re-enact the Wright brothers' first powered flight on Dec. 17, the 100th anniversary of the Wrights' historic flight, near Kitty Hawk, N.C. Kochersberger, associate professor of mechanical engineering, helped build the reproduction 1903 Wright Flyer and was named a "Pilot of the Century" by the Experimental Aircraft Association.

RIT student Ron Mooney sits among hand-crafted glass and ceramic creations at the annual School for American Crafts holiday sale, Dec. 11 in the Student Alumni Union.

RIT’s School of Art students, faculty and alumni chiseled their way through six blocks of ice—weighing 300 pounds each—for Gallery r’s annual show-stopping display during the Park Avenue Winter Fest on Dec. 4.

Kevin Romero (left), Richard Morrison and Dwayne Brown, all members of the Mu Sigma chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha wrap presents for the 7th annual Tree of Angels project. The gifts go to residents of East House, a non-profit halfway house for recovery from mental illness or substance abuse. An annual outreach effort started in 1997, the Angel Project donated 550 gifts last year, 200 of which were from RIT Greeks.
