RIT students give feedback on new seating options that are part of planned renovations in the Student Alumni Union, May 7.

Judges inspect a manufacturing work cell built by students from Birmingham Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Mich., at the 16th annual National Robotic Technology and Engineering Challenge May 5 at RIT. The two-day event, hosted by RIT for the first time, drew 600 students and more than 1,000 spectators from across the nation.

The studio is the canvas for fourth-year painting student David Wien. He’s turned the walls of his campus workspace into a mural full of lively images and commentary. Check out his creation during a reception, 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, in the fine art painting studio, room A172 of the Frank E. Gannett Building.

In celebration of Arbor Day on April 26, about 60 people, including members of RIT’s Student Environmental Action League, RIT landscape architect Bonnie Majestic-Trobe and other helpers, planted eight maple trees near Building 86. The trees had been uprooted and "orphaned" by construction of the building that will house the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Industrial design students from the School of Design profit from a bright idea, April 25. They sold 90 lamps on campus, each one created for their senior project in furniture design. Students were graded on their design and production skills.

Organized entirely by RIT hospitality and service management majors in the College of Applied Science and Technology, the gala featured a theme of "New York, New York, 1950s" and attracted more than 300 to the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

RIT student Kim Kearney stands poised to keep her egg intact during the opening event of the College of Business Olympics. The egg-toss competition featured student teams representing seven different areas of study. However, the faculty-staff team of Mark Boylan and Brian Hensel won the day by tossing their egg back and forth for the longest time without dropping it.
