Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 1st Shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) or 2nd Shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) SALARY $30,768 annually (School-term position - based on working 209 days) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares and administers prescription medications to students according to directions from physicians and approval of the Health Center's Registered Nurse. Gives First Aid and PRN medication as appropriate and necessary according to the nursing process and standing orders from school physician. Maintains personal work schedules, doctor visits for students or emergency visits as approved by supervisor. Assists physicians with examinations and records appropriate documentation. Provides appropriate instruction to students regarding health care. Answer the Health Center's switchboard and maintain harmonious relationships with students, parents and campus staff. Documents all medicines, treatments and education provided on students' individual charts and other appropriate records. Observes students and reviews records as necessary and reports changes in condition or behavior. Notifies supervisor and/or physician of appropriate concerns including emergencies. Admits students to the Health Center with appropriate documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIRED/PREFERRED Licensed Practical Nurse: One year of professionally supervised experience in a health care setting. Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with an application for nursing boards or possession of current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in Missouri. Maintain LPN license Must meet the American Sign Language competency level of Survival Plus. (Other qualifications and experience, which in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education meet the requirements of the position, may be accepted in lieu of the below.)
