STOREKEEPER II SALARY $27,672 annually ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Receives all food items, supplies and equipment; check for quality, quantity, U.S. Department of Agriculture Certificates and Conformance with specifications shown on the purchase order; rejects all shipments not meeting specifications; certifies receipt of goods which is used as the basis for authorizing payment to vendors. Coordinates and supervises the maintenance of all inventory control records, including a perpetual inventory of all stores in the main storerooms, and a property inventory of all physical property and equipment. Determines optimum inventory levels; establishes re-order points and standards order size for maximum economy; initiates purchase requisitions for approval when inventory level reaches the re-order point. Makes minor purchases when authorized. Makes local area pick-ups of purchases authorized by purchase order. Considerable knowledge of storekeeping methods and procedures in the receipt, storage and shipment of a variety of goods. Considerable knowledge of various kinds of grades of food items, office supplies and maintenance equipment. Knowledge of purchase and requisition procedures. Ability to keep perpetual inventory records. Ability to make inspections for quantity and quality of goods against purchase orders and specifications. Ability to perform manual labors such as lifting heavy weights. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students, staff and fellow workers. EDUCATION REQUIRED / PREFERRED High school diploma or G.E.D. Three years of responsible experience in the keeping of stores and store records or in comparable activities in the receipt and inspection of supplies.
