Job Description | ABOUT THE COMPANY
Tatum Robotics' mission is to create the first assistive communication device for DeafBlind people that can translate English text input into tactile ASL output. The device consists of a robotic hand/wrist, fully 3D printed, which is now capable of fingerspelling and will eventually be capable of producing complex signs and sentences. We see the device’s utility both in the home (so that DeafBlind individuals can access things like emails, text messages, or eBooks without the need of interpreting services) as well as in institutions like schools (so that students whose teachers are helping their peers can still learn).
Tatum Robotics is in collaboration with the Deaf-Blind Contact Center (Allston, MA), the Candian Institute for the Blind, Perkins School for the Deaf, and Sense International.
