Your Day to Day:

This role falls within PGIM Fixed Income’s Technology Solutions Group (TSG). As part of our Engineering and Development team, Developer Analysts will be placed into teams that support a variety of applications and systems, including: Web & Application Development, Cloud Architecture, Data Engineering, DevOps, Salesforce development and application support. Job responsibilities could include:

  • Build and maintain new and existing applications in preparation for a large-scale architectural migration within an Agile function.

  • Rotate between different engineering roles (Developer, DevOps, Salesforce and Application Support) before finding a right fit as a home in team matching exercise.

  • Take guidance from the Product Owner and Solutions Lead in assessing business needs and transforming them into scalable applications.

  • Build and maintain code to manage data received from heterogenous data formats including web-based sources, internal/external databases, flat files, heterogenous data formats (binary, ASCII).

  • Work with industry wide caching frameworks (HazelCast, MemSQL, MemCach) to leverage distributed caching methodology and optimize application performances

  • Design and implement event base services leveraging messaging frameworks such as Kafka, Zero-MQ, Rabbit-MQ … to build close to real-time streaming framework.

  • Design and support effective storage and retrieval of very large internal and external data set and be forward think about the convergence strategy with our AWS cloud migration

  • Assess the impact of scaling up and scaling out and ensure sustained data management and data delivery performance.

  • Build interfaces for supporting evolving and new applications and accommodating new data sources and types of data.

Your Desired Skills:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program graduating between December 2021 and June 2022

  • Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other technically related area of study that includes programming theory in its curriculum (Minimum GPA of 3.0 required)

  • A strong understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms

  • Ability to explain different algorithms and solve BigO notations.

  • Practical coding experience, with a strong preference in Java and Python.

  • Fundamental knowledge of the AWS Cloud ecosystem (Spark/Scala/EC2/Redshift).
