POSITION: Regional Director, Tri-County GLAD
SUPERVISOR: Chief Executive Officer
LOCATION: Ventura, CA
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, 100% FTE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Regional Director will:
1. Plan and supervise staff on the day-to-day activities of the Tri-County GLAD office and other locations to be determined;
2. Develop and implement education, advocacy and resource development efforts in these services in three counties; provides oversight to Ventura Co. advocates regarding their cases and performs advocacy work to consumers in person and/or videophone; secures advocacy information and resources
3. Facilitate professional enhancement opportunities for a multi-disciplinary staff team, create opportunities for team-building, and maintain environment of high staff morale;
4. Ensure programmatic objectives are carried out by monitoring program progress and contract compliance;
5. Assist in the grant-writing process, seek out additional funding to expand services; oversee other grants associated with TCGLAD;
6. Participate in a wide range of networking activities as well as establishing community partnerships to promote the organization’s functions to the service areas;
7. Participate in TCGLAD advisory board meetings as a staff support;
8. Represent the agency in various local committees to improve service availability for the deaf and hard of hearing community (driving is required as part of the job).
9. Plan and set up satellite offices as needed.
10. Provide monthly operational reports to the CEO
11. Perform such tasks and responsibilities as may be delegated.

Note: As part of our hiring process, the selected candidate will be required to complete and pass a background check of references, criminal background screening and drug screening.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.A. degree or equivalent experience is required.
2. Must be fluent in American Sign Language, have excellent written communication skills, be detail-oriented with strong organizational and management skills.
3. Must understand the relationship between programmatic and budgetary components of assigned projects.
4. Be able to maintain a cooperative and positive working relationship with staff, employees, managers and the CEO
5. Ability to effectively problem-solve, make decisions and promote growth and development at an administrative level.
6. Excellent projection planning is a must. Applicant must be able to present information during staff meetings and present well to other groups of people.
7. Applicants must demonstrate sensitivity to deaf persons from diverse, multi-ethnic populations, with widely varying communication skills and language levels.
8. Knowledge of laws governing the rights of individuals with disabilities and programs benefiting deaf persons is required.
9. Ability to work well under pressure; meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
10. Must be able to travel within entire service area.
11. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance as required by
law. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster shot(s) required.
