DOVE is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing (DDBDDHH) victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. Our goal is to collaborate, educate, and advocate to end violence in the Colorado Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing communities.
DOVE’s mission is: Supporting Colorado Deaf survivors’ healing journey.
Job Salary: $48,000
Employment Status: Full-time position. Includes paid vacation and sick leave benefits, IRA benefits, selfcare bank, medical, vision, and dental insurance.
Reports to: Program Director
Position Responsibilities:
Provide trauma-informed advocacy services and safety planning assistance
Navigate survivors through legal and medical systems
Act as cultural broker and advocate for communication access while working with other service providers
Support survivors in times of crisis and help meet their immediate needs
Maintain clear documentation of work with clients utilizing CAFE software
Partner with DOVE staff in monitoring and responding to DOVE’s 24-hour crisis line
Primarily responsible for DOVE’s social media accounts and sharing information regarding Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, or other forms of violence on all accounts
Develop and provide educational videos in ASL for survivors and members of the DDBDDHH community
Manage DOVE’s Volunteer Program
Recruit and work with new and existing volunteers
Develop a consistently updated training curriculum
Maintain interactions with trainees about training content
Check-in with Volunteers regularly
Track Volunteer hours
Strengthen relationships with community organizations, through dialogue, identifying and addressing barriers, to authentically support survivors and the DDBDDHH community including implementation of equitable and best practices and continued communication strategies
Do community interviews with local organizations and Deaf community members to share on DOVE’s platforms
Facilitate community education opportunities to foster relationship building, collaboration, and promoting equitable services for the Colorado DDBDDHH community
Provide ongoing community workshops for DDBDDHH community members including Black Indigenous, and People Of Color (BIPOC) and LGBTQIA+ communities
Schedules, recruits, manages, and provides a safe place for topics discussed during the workshops with community members and/or survivors
Create speaker opportunities for Deaf BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, DeafBlind and DeafDisabled community members
Create flyers to distribute to our survivors or community members for community events
Attend monthly collaborative organizational meetings
Support with community outreach events by setting up booths and sharing information
Provides support to other staff as needed with organizational Programs, Community Awareness activities and Training

Desired Qualifications:
Fluency in American Sign Language and the ability to communicate with DDBDDHH clients in their preferred mode of communication
Experienced and knowledgeable regarding sexual assault, domestic violence, social justice, and anti-violence movements
Independent self starter
Experience with public speaking
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions
BA/BS degree; or 2 years in a human-services related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, Google Suites, Adobe, and ZOOM
Knowledge of social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok
