Position: Human Resources Administrator
Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer
Location: GLAD Headquarters (Los Angeles)
Classification: Exempt, 100% FTE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer
2. Act as custodian of records and maintain records of employment-related materials and personnel files
3. Using GLAD’s HR portal, administer all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and pension plans.
4. Process payroll for all employees.
5. Handle the recruitment, screening and hiring process of all GLAD personnel;
6. Conduct new employee onboarding via HR system
7. Process employee offboarding including final pay warrants
8. Prepare job announcements, duty statements, and all employment-related correspondence
9. Assist in the maintenance, administration, and development of personnel policies and the
Employee Handbook
10. Process quarterly Multiple Worksite Reporting of Wages to the Employment Development Department
11. Process annual census reports for pension plans;
12. Maintain company insurance policies: DO&L, WC, and General Liability/Umbrella
13. Report to the CEO on a regular basis;
14. Perform such tasks and responsibilities as may be delegated by the CEO.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Undergraduate degree with a focus on Human Resources or the equivalent. Human Resources training is desirable.
2. Must have knowledge of standard personnel policies and procedures, labor laws, and other related guidelines.
3. Be knowledgeable of performance evaluation systems and laws related to appraisals.
4. Minimum of three years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience.
5. Fluency in American Sign Language and knowledge of deaf culture is required.
6. Must be able to work independently, take initiative, maintain accuracy and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Be able to handle personal details, data and other private information. Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
7. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, sometimes with competing deadlines.
8. Must maintain a cooperative relationship with co-employees, directors, outside vendors and brokers, community members, other agencies and the CEO.
9. All GLAD employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Salary Range - $66,000 – $80,000 annually.
