ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the EDD Program Manager, the Job Placement Coordinator:
Provides employment services to deaf and hard-of-hearing persons
Provides support services and sensitivity training to EDD staff and employers
Manages client recruitment, assessment, counseling, job development, and referral to training programs
Handles negotiation and monitoring of training contracts, job placement and follow-up contacts with clients and employers after placement
Works closely with Job Developer/ Interpreter on a team level
Is responsible for approval of timesheets for Job Developer/Interpreter
Supervises and evaluates the Job Developer/Interpreter
Reports to the program manager on operations and activities on a regular basis
Prepares weekly reports
Performs such tasks and responsibilities as may be delegated.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree, fluency in ASL and involvement with the deaf community are required.
Previous experience in the provision of job development services to unskilled and highly skilled deaf and hard-of-hearing persons
Previous experience with social services programs
Must possess the ability to relate and be sensitive to deaf persons with varied communication skills and language levels and be able to work with a diverse, multi-ethnic population.
Ability to handle personal details, data and other private information. Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to perform professionally. Punctuality and reliability are a must.
Demonstrated efficiency with Microsoft Office programs required.
Must be flexible in working remotely from home and in the office until employees return to full-time office schedule.
Be detail-oriented with strong organizational and written communication skills. Must prioritize and handle multiple tasks, sometimes with competing deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must maintain a cooperative relationship with co-employees, directors, employers, outside vendors, and the CEO.
Must have reliable transportation and maintain up-to-date auto insurance.

SALARY: $51,500 - $61,500 annually
