Job Description | Chief, Transplantation Branch The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is seeking an innovative and visionary leader to be the chief, Transplantation Branch (TB), Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation (DAIT), one of three extramural program divisions within NIAID. The TB chief plans and manages a broad portfolio of solicited grant initiatives, investigator-initiated grants, and contracts focused on basic, pre-clinical, and clinical research, with the aim of improving our understanding of the role the immune system plays in organ, tissue, and cell transplantation success or failure. The knowledge generated by this portfolio aims to modify the immune response to improve long-term transplant survival and to reduce the need for broadly immunosuppressive medications, which can cause significant side effects.
