Job Description

Anticipated Date of Hire: On or before September 16, 2024.

Job Description: Participates in planning and conducting statewide Outreach activities in support of Florida Telecommunications Access System Act (TASA). Promote the availability of telecommunications equipment and relay services through Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI), for individuals with hearing loss and speech impairment. Works with and reports to FTRI Outreach Manager.
Agency: The Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) is a not-for-profit state program responsible for providing telecommunications devices and services to eligible Floridians with hearing loss. FTRI reports to the Public Service Commission (PSC). FTRI has an internal staff of seven employees. FTRI collaborates with 13 regional distribution centers and hearing loss service providers statewide. FTRI website is www.ftri.org.

Requirements

Skills and Experience: the candidate for this position shall have a practical knowledge of telecommunications systems and services. The candidate shall also have knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, and methodology to effectively promote, educate/train and advise others regarding use of FTRI telecommunications equipment. Emphasis on proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms. In addition, the candidate should be proficient in the use of desktop publishing software, be able to work independently and collaboratively, solve practical problems, and work effectively with members of the FTRI team.

Qualifications: Minimum of a four-year college degree in public relations, marketing, business administration or equivalent. Proficiency in American Sign language (ASL) is desirable. Familiarity with use of Videophone is helpful. Spanish-speaking skills are also welcome.
