Work Responsibilities
I worked on a project to make new materials for hair care products. I worked with silicones, which were new materials to me. I was able to do synthetic preparation of these materials, analysis of them, and hair-care applications testing.
How my career relates to my degree from RIT/NTID
My AAS degree is in Laboratory Science Technology. It allowed me to learn analytical processes in the laboratory. I learned the need to perform specific tasks, being more practical relating to mechanical, information technology, mathematical, or scientific tasks. As scientists in the industry, we will be involved with variety of laboratory investigation in biology, chemical, and life science areas. I received all those skills from LST where we have been hands-on with a great range of equipment such as High Pressure Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrum, and more.
