What is your Job Title?
UX/UI Research Assistant
What are your Work Responsibilities?
My role is to provide support to research faculty on various projects related to augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, accessibility, and/or informal STEM learning studies. I assist faculty in data management, survey creation, study recruitment, and document preparation. I provide a lot of support in the conceptualization, design, and development of projects that the center does.
How does your co-op relate to your degree from RIT/NTID?
My internship at Center on Culture and Language relates to my degree because my degree focuses on how people use technology and the ways we can make computing systems fit that. I feel very prepared for my career in the future because my internship gives me a lot of confidence in the things I want to do when I graduate and find a job.
Do you have any advice for any current students attending RIT/NTID?
My advice would be to take advantage of studying and managing your time. I met a lot of great friends and people at RIT/NTID, and I learned a lot from them and teaching my peers as well. Graduating RIT/NTID will help me step up and be more confident about myself as a deaf person.
