How my career relates to my degree from RIT/NTID
My choice of a career in human resources is related to work experience as a socio-therapist at the Hillside Children's Center, as a deaf communications specialist with the Center for Disability Rights and as a tutor for the American Sign Language Interpreting Programs at NTID — all in Rochester, N.Y. These experiences made it obvious to me that I wanted to work with people and help them be successful. Coursework in my HR major included analyzing case studies that helped me understand the kinds of problems or challenges people may have in life, and gave me the skills and training to figure out how to manage these situations in a professional way. I loved my major and learned so much. I plan to continue on for my master's degree in Human Resource Management.
