Work Responsibilities
It was my responsibility to research and analyze criminal justice records to produce a report on patterns of offender behavior. I also was assigned to research different types of laws that interfaced with the State Department's mission. There were weekly discussions with mentors in which we tracked the projects' status and accuracy.

How my career relates to my degree from RIT/NTID
From researching cases to gathering statistics and right down to writing a memo, classes in my major—psychology—prepared me to be successful on the job. Psychology at RIT focuses a lot on research and I took a scientific writing course where I learned how to do research and write about it. My knowledge of gathering statistics from an experiment was very helpful; without those skills, the job would have been much more challenging. The time management skills I developed during RIT's quarter system were skills I used every day on co-op.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. And keep your mind open to new things.
