This is a collaborative discussion series intended to assist faculty with various aspects of classroom management.

  • Sept 4: Meet the Academic Success Center and explore the services / support available for your students and for yourself as an instructor! We will cover planning out the semester, assigning group work, etc.
  • Sept 11: Teaching in active learning classrooms is a challenge - and adding support staff, such as interpreters and captionists is even more complicated! Meet a group from the Department of Access Services who are working in active learning classrooms (particularly the SHED and Wallace) to learn tips and tricks about making your class run more smoothly. The team will provide insights in to working not only support staff, but also how to better organize group work, etc., to help your students succeed.
  • Sept 18: Grading in large classes (and some not so large classes!) is daunting! No one became a teacher because they love grading! Meet with a group of faculty who have implemented AI-based grading tools in their classes. Hear the pro's, con's and everything in between!

These sessions are intended for RIT faculty, including adjuncts and teaching assistants. Participants should request Access Services, if needed.
