This unstructured conversation is geared to STEM faculty to learn from the learning experiences of women of color students in their classes.

Join us for an insightful panel discussion with women of color in STEM disciplines as they share their unique experiences navigating academic landscapes in engineering, biosciences, mathematics, computer science, and other technical fields. This event invites faculty and advisors to listen and learn from the voices of students who bring invaluable perspectives to understanding diversity, inclusion, and belonging in STEM education. The panel will share their challenges, successes, and suggestions for instructional classroom change.

Faculty and advisors in STEM fields, especially those in mechanical engineering technology, biomedical sciences, and computer science, will gain first-hand insights into the opportunities, challenges, and support needs of these students. This discussion aims to foster a deeper understanding and spark new ideas for creating inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in an important dialogue and learn how we can better educate, support, and inspire the next generation of diverse STEM talent.

Makini Beck, CTL Faculty Fellow in Diversity Equity & Inclusion, and Assistant Professor from the School of Individualized Study and the College of Liberal Arts, will moderate the discussion.
