Each year, RIT welcomes nearly 2,000 students from more than 100 countries to its campus. The draw of a top-notch STEM education, along with a nationally ranked co-op and internship program and an increasing global reach with numerous opportunities for programmatic exchanges, gives students the chance for real-world work experiences and career focus.

More than 500 incoming students this academic year received a performing arts scholarship, which were created to enable musicians, dancers, actors, and even students with experience in technical theater to continue to pursue their passion for performance while at RIT. To date, some 1,800 students have received scholarships in the five years they have been available.

RIT has one of the largest and best collegiate esports programs in the nation. With around 250 players and more than 2,300 community members, RIT Esports is bigger than many college athletics programs.

WHAM-TV features a partnership with School No. 5 and students in the visual arts–all grades (art education) master's degree program.

Motivated RIT freshman Brayden Levangie wastes no time designing his own curriculum to advance his AI and robotic research while at college. Levangie is a first-year student in RIT’s School of Individualized Study from West Boylston, Mass.

RIT kicked off the semester with a SHED open house on Jan. 18 and an invitation to explore RIT’s biggest creative hub.

The world’s greatest collection of cybersecurity talent assembled at RIT Jan. 11-14 for the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) global finals. The annual event wrapped up the largest offense-based cybersecurity competition for college students, which is hosted annually by RIT.

A new training program for RIT students, faculty, and staff aims to bolster a campus-wide approach to supporting student mental health. Nearly 300 people have completed the Mental Health First Aid Training course last semester and have received certification from the National Council of Mental Wellbeing.
