Top academic achievers honored as RIT Outstanding Undergraduate Scholars
More than 100 RIT students were honored Thursday as Outstanding Undergraduate Scholars. The students were also able to invite the high school or community college teacher that made the most impact on their education.

Engineering students help bring cannon fire back to museum
In 2015, the Genesee Country Village & Museum stopped firing cannons during Civil War reenactments in the historic village because the black powder charges appeared to be damaging windows and buildings. To help reintroduce cannon fire, four fifth-year engineering students are identifying the cause of the damage and creating a best practices procedure to protect the buildings while maintaining authenticity.

RIT is being honored nationally for its impact on diversity and inclusion. For the fifth consecutive year, INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine named Rochester Institute of Technology a Diversity Champion.

RIT students spend Alternative Spring Break helping communities in need
More than 40 RIT students spent a week during Alternative Spring Break clearing hundreds of pounds of trash from beaches, painting school buildings and preventing erosion while providing a habitat for oysters.

RIT’s NTID Performing Arts presents August Wilson’s ‘Fences,’ April 11-14
Fences, the American play written by August Wilson, will be presented next month by the Performing Arts department of RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Shows will run at 7:30 p.m. April 11-13, and 2 p.m. April 14, in Panara Theatre, Lyndon Baines Johnson Hall, on the RIT campus.
