Request RIT Amazon Business Group Access

The following communication was sent to RIT employees regarding the institute's participation in the Amazon Business for Education program.

To request access to RIT’s Amazon Business for Education Program, use the RIT Service Center (RSC) request form linked here.  A request will be placed with Amazon to include your RIT work email in the group.

We are excited to announce that Rochester Institution of Technology Procurement and Accounting Offices have elected to participate in the Amazon Business for Education program. Amazon Business for Education is a new marketplace on Amazon.com that offers access to hundreds of millions of products in a shopping experience tailored for business shoppers.

Our goal is to provide procurement card holders the ability to have a RIT Institution Amazon Business account that will provide additional reporting capabilities and reduce the complexity related to tax exempt purchases. In other words, less time spent dealing with sales tax issues, and ability to comply with university policies.

Your participation in this program is required if you plan to purchase goods through Amazon with your procurement card. The business account can be set up under one email address with multiple “methods of payment” (ie: if you manage more than one procurement card, these all can be set up under your one Amazon Business account).

You will receive an invitation from Amazon to join the Amazon group. See instructions listed at here to accept the invitation.

You will then be able to shop on Amazon as you always have, however before completing your first purchase:

• You will need to add the tax exempt status, see the instructions here
• You will need to add in your Shipping and Billing Address
• You will need to add your Method of Payment (RIT procurement card(s))
