Eleven outstanding students from the International Hospitality and Service Management program at the Dubrovnik campus were recently inducted into the newly formed chapter of the Eta Sigma Delta Honorary Society, which recognizes outstanding students based on their academic achievement and community leadership.

The idea for the Dubrovnik chapter came from RIT Rochester campus study abroad student Linden Pohland, who worked with Prof. Milena Kuznin to make the chapter a reality. The society is endorsed by International Council on Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE). The RIT Croatia chapter is now one of 90 ESD chapters around the world, and the first one to be established in Croatia and the immediate region.

The Eta Sigma Delta Executive Board includes: Petra Todorović, President; Toni Paskojević, Vice President; Andela Petra Cvitanović, Secretary; and Josipa Buble, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Other members are Tena Frček Hajster, Andrea Kecić, Nikoleta Krivić, Mia Kun, Ante Luka Presečan, Sara Stanić and Ljubica Vasiljević.

Honorary members include General Managers of two leading hotels in the Dubrovnik area - Ms. Sanela Omerčahić, GM of Bellevue Hotel and Mr. Mario Matković, GM of Grand Hilton Imperial. Both are faculty members of RIT Croatia. All members were inducted December 7 at a formal induction ceremony.

This active chapter will organize various events and activities to help connect their academic studies with current trends in the industry.

Congratulations on this great achievement!
