ACMT has changed its name to RIT Croatia
The American College of Management and Technology changes its name to RIT Croatia (Rochester Institute of Technology Croatia)
In order to fully align itself with its parent institution, Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, New York), the American College of Management and Technology has changed its name to RIT Croatia (Rochester Institute of Technology Croatia)
As a global campus of the prominent American university, Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, New York), the American College of Management and Technology (ACMT) has changed its name to RIT Croatia (Rochester Institute of Technology Croatia). The reason for this change is to more clearly communicate and emphasize the affiliation of this higher educational institution with its parent institution, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). This brand evolution to RIT Croatia recognizes RIT's long-term commitment to its Croatian global campus and emphasizes the high educational standards of this leading American university. In addition, it is also an important factor in the strategy of positioning the RIT on the European continent. Specifically, RIT Croatia will represent Rochester Institute of Technology as one of the largest universities in the United States, in the European Union, in order to attract many students to its Croatian campus from countries around the world.Don Hudspeth, president and dean of RIT Croatia, said: "We have always been part of the Rochester Institute of Technology and by taking the name of our globally recognized mother institution, this connection and its significance will be more clearly perceived. Croatia's recent EU membership will bring many changes and opportunities to our country and higher education. Rochester Institute of Technology is aware of the positive impact that EU membership brings to its members, and they have recognized the opportunity for strengthening our position in Europe. RIT Croatia will be positioned as the leading campus in Europe. RIT Croatia will attract students from many countries and present RIT as one of the top US Universities within the continent. Our name change is an important step in achieving that goal. "
RIT Croatia, formerly known as The American College of Management and Technology (ACMT), was established in Croatia in 1997 in Dubrovnik when the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia initiated the establishment of private higher education institutions. Due to its reputation in creating and maintaining successful international partnerships, one of the most prominent private American universities, Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, New York) was chosen as the best partner in these efforts. At the moment, RIT Croatia (the Zagreb and Dubrovnik campuses) has more than 540 students, and offers three undergraduate programs: Tourism, Hospitality and Service Management (Dubrovnik), International Business (Zagreb), Information Technology (Dubrovnik and Zagreb) as well as a Master of Science program Service Leadership and Innovation (Zagreb). Programs and curricula are fully aligned with the high standards of education of the Rochester Institute of Technology. Lectures are held in English, and many of our faculty members are American professors who have lived and worked in the US. The quality of the college has been confirmed by many international accreditations. RIT Croatia, as a branch of one of the most prominent universities, became the first private college in Croatia when the collaboration agreement was signed between RIT and the Ministry of Science. It is the only higher education institution which issues two degrees through the above mentioned partnership for under-graduate studies. The American degree is issued by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and the Croatian degree is issued by the RIT Croatia.
