IT students at Dubrovnik and Zagreb campuses had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Andrew Sears, the Dean of RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
Dr. Sears used this opportunity to familiarize our IT students with various programs at the Golisano College like gaming, cyber security, etc.
Many of our IT students are interested in potentially continuing onto their graduate studies at RIT and this was a great opportunity to gain first hand details about all the possibilities.
Dr. Sears also emphasized the option of studying at RIT for a semester and he was happy to answer the questions our students had about accommodations, program requirements and other questions related to student life at RIT's main campus.
The topic of employability was also discussed, and Dr. Sears advised students to build up their competitive advantage while looking for employment, whether it is a co-op or pursuing careers within the IT sector upon graduation. He mentioned that employers appreciate hard work above and beyond standard curriculum activities, and in the IT world it is extremely important to have a deliverable product - an application, second version of the application, to compete on the job market.
