Yet another group of RIT students took part in our annual Footsteps Through the Adriatic program from May 30 to June 28, 2015.

This exciting concept of combining courses with traveling through Croatia attracted 10 students this year who decided to come from the U.S. to Croatia, and who were accompanied by professors Rob Vlosky and Staša Puškarić, and two interpreters Alisa Turk and Bill DeGroote, for hearing impaired students.

Students started their tour with a nine-day stay in Dubrovnik, where they took classes in Sustainable Small Business Management and Ecology of Dalmatian Cost at RIT Croatia, enriched by exploring Dubrovnik and its surroundings.

The tour of Croatia was continued by traveling to Pelješac, Narona, Neretva River safari, exploration of the Nature Park Biokovo, Makarska, National Park Paklenica and Krka River. During these visits, students were introduced to cultural and historical sights, as well as some small businesses like Miloš winery on the Pelješac peninsula. In this way, the courses were connected to real life examples in order to provide students with better learning outcomes.

After exploring Southern and Central Dalmatia, the Footsteps group continued with visiting Pag, Novalja, National Park Plitvice, Vrelo Cave, and many other fascinating sights. On the 23rd day of their stay in Croatia, the students arrived in Zagreb, where they had their final classes at RIT Croatia's Zagreb campus followed by final presentations of their course related projects.

The overall outcomes of such a combination of studying and traveling show excellent results and it's no wonder that Footsteps Through the Adriatic has become available to RIT students on regular basis. We hope to see many more of them in the future visiting RIT Croatia and our beautiful country.
