On September 16, parallel with the Tiger Olympics, RIT Croatia took part in the RIT Global Day of Service, which is a joint effort between Alumni Association and RIT's alumni chapters around the world, with the goal of bonding together and making a difference in the communities through service projects. The first stop for volunteers was to visit the home for the elderly in Trnje, where Professor Ninoslav Mimica, President of Alzheimer Croatia, gave an overview about how to prevent/notice this disease. Following this, all volunteers moved to Sportski center Trnje where, in collaboration with Ana Rukavina Foundation, 35 volunteers have registered into a pool of potential donors to the Croatian Bone Marrow Donors Registry. This turned out to be a fantastic outcome and we are happy to be able to help Ana Rukavina Foundation in building their register increasing the odds of saving lives of those who are treated for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood diseases.

We had an opportunity to hear about detection and prevention of Alzheimer's disease from Prof. Mimica, President of Alzheimer's Association Croatia, and register into the pool of potential donors of bone marrow, activity conducted in collaboration with Ana Rukavina Foundation. Of course, this was also another much appreciated networking opportunity for our community", said Nina Minica, RIT Croatia Alumni Association President.
