Guest lectures @RIT Croatia: Alen Kovač from Erste bank talks about the economic development of Croatia

Head of Economic Research Department of Erste&Steiermärkische Bank Alen Kovač visited our Zagreb campus and talked to our students about the economic development of Croatia, its position in the region and in the EU; he focused on the causes and effect of economic growth, as well as impact of fiscal and monetary policy. Interesting, and interactive this way students were given the opportunity to see the concrete usage of macroeconomics terms in finance industry but also the impact of macroeconomics variables on the overall business environment. More than 170 students attended the lecture and in the Q&A part they asked Mr. Kovač questions about FDI and economic growth, tourism impact on GDP growth, instruments of Croatian monetary policy as well as pros and cons for Croatia regarding entering Euro-Area. At the end of the lecture there was also opportunity to exchange contacts and talk to the lecturer directly which some of the students were more than willing to use.
