The second Hackathon competition took place in Dubrovnik from April 16-17, 2016. After the initial part of conference and workshops, a 48-hour competition took place and10 teams participated from all over Croatia and internationally with their Smart City projects.

RIT Croatia was represented by two teams of IT students, one team was from Dubrovnik and one was from Zagreb campus. The Dubrovnik team consisted of Marko Zelenković, Petar Čučuk i Tomislav Kulušić. Dubrovnik team was working on smart trashcan project and they won a special award for a very young team. Patrik Đurasek, Mateo Sokač, Filipe Jovic Aleixo, Dino Horvat, Luka Crnjaković and Ivan Mazalović were a part of Zagreb team and they were very excited about the opportunity to come to Dubrovnik and participate in this event. The Zagreb team designed a userApp and an adminWeb for a platform that suggests users places to visit based on their previous experience, choices and decisions they made. Students are always encouraged to take the most out of these kinds of opportunities and to recognize them as an integral part of their professional development. Hackathon is a competition that yields fantastic ideas; it is a great platform for creative, young minds to showcase their achievements, and we are looking forward to be a part of Hackathon 2017.
