Signed on May 28, 2014 by dr. Jeremy Haefner, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at RIT and prof. dr. sc. Pero Lučin, the Rector of the University of Rijeka, the main objective of this MoU is to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and increase the mobility of faculty, scientists and student exchange.

On that occasion, prof. dr. sc. Pero Lučin said: " I am happy to say da the interdisciplinary direction which we, the University of Rijeka, are taking is beyond correct. This Memorandum of Understanding leads to investing into science and research which I believe will bring benefits to both parties. I am most happy that our students and scientists will have an opportunity to acquire different skills from their US colleagues. "
