RIT Croatia exhibits on Imagine RIT Creativity and Innovation Festival

Imagine RIT is the university's signature event showcasing innovation and creativity of its community. This year the whole project is moving online. More than 200 exhibits, including six from RIT Croatia, will be available on www.rit.edu/imagine, on Saturday, May 1 at 4 p.m. (CET) or 10 a.m. (EDT).

RIT Croatia has submitted two videos showing virtual tours of our campuses, as well as student-produced showcase videos on our Hospitality and Tourism Management craft beer project, breweRIT, and our annual charity fundraising events. Two of our Web and Mobile computing students also submitted videos on their individual work: Josip Vlah and Neven Prašnikar.

"My creation is ePix Editions, a publishing platform and marketing tool based on ePix Wallpaper Calendar. I decided to present it at Imagine RIT to attract interest from possible sponsors and gather valuable feedback for further development," said Neven.

Josip created an Augmented Reality experience that he created called "Starry Night."

"It transforms the users' camera feed into a "Starry Night" painting by the famous Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. Users are then able to take photos and videos with the style of the famous painting. The experience can be viewed within the Snapchat social media application."

"Participating in Imagine RIT is an amazing opportunity for students to showcase some of their work, especially when it comes to the experiential and art related projects," he said. "It is also an amazing opportunity to reach people and show them what can be done within the creative technology spectrum."

Representing our Hospitality and Tourism Management program, a video on the breweRIT craft beer project was selected as one of the two RIT Global spotlight videos, with a feature release time and an opportunity for viewers to chat live with the students involved in the project - Jelena Benić and Dejana Kušić.
