Maintaining and inventorying athletic equipment, identifying equipment requirements of students; preparing, setting up and breaking down equipment pre-and-post events; and assisting the Athletic Director in regards to student-athletes and coaches.

SUPERVISOR: DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the coordination of day-to-day sports activities and the maintenance of sports facilities.
Determines needs and generates purchase orders to acquire athletic and sports equipment.
Establishes, maintains, and reconciles uniform and equipment inventories, and oversees the maintenance of all inventory records for the program.
Oversees uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practices and on game day.
Oversees and coordinates all game day equipment preparations and setup for games.
Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, and pre-season for all school-sanctioned male and female athletic programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices and our country's Long-Term Athletic/Fitness Development Model.
Work in cooperation with the sports medicine or athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards and Guidelines.
Develop systems for tracking athlete attendance and athlete progress in conjunction with the sport coaches.
Tracks and maintains annual required forms for participation in athletics and after school programs.
Design and instruct curricular strength and conditioning classes, as needed.
Coordinate all transportation, parent communications, & game day preparedness
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation or related field.
Current or eligible for relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency—for example, NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification within 2 years of start date.
Current or eligible for standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications within 3 months of start date.
A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in techniques of strength training.
Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for high school populations.
Computer skills, including the use of Google Suites and Microsoft Office suite.
A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language required, with
native, or near-native ASL fluency preferred.
