Program exposes teens to college experience
RIT’s Upward Bound Classic program wrapped up its first year with a residential summer program that provided Rochester-area high schoolers a taste of college, including living on RIT’s campus, completing academic workshops, visiting other area colleges and speaking with community leaders. -

RIT team identifies Frederick Douglass land deed
A research team from RIT has identified a land deed dating from the Civil War that shows abolitionist Frederick Douglass purchased property in what is now downtown Rochester. The deed is a revelation to scholars seeking to understand Douglass’s role as a businessman and landholder in Rochester. -
