Study Abroad 101 Meetings
For students who are just starting to explore study abroad. Learn the basics about RIT Study Abroad, things to consider and how to search programs at this introductory meeting led by returned study abroad students. Meetings take place three times a week in person at the RIT Global Office located in Global Village, Bldg. 400, Rm 1075 (above the Cantina & Grill) - Wednesdays 4 pm; Thursdays 11 am; Fridays 2 pm. Meet one-on-one with a study abroad advisor
For students who have done some initial research and already have a few programs in mind. A one-on-one meeting with an advisor will help you solidify your program choice, discuss specific courses you are looking to take, go over specific application steps, learn about scholarships, and more.
Both in-person and Zoom meetings are available. Once you’ve chosen your appointment time, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Remember to add your appointment time to your personal calendar.

Preparing for your one-on-one meeting with a study abroad advisor
Doing some prep work ahead of time will help you get the most out of your meeting.
- Watch this short video so you’ll be well-informed by your meeting and can spend your advising time going beyond the basics and digging deeper into areas that are important to you.

- Have you thought about your priorities in a study abroad program? You can use the Study Abroad Blueprint to help you explore what you're looking for in a program abroad.
- Have you talked with your academic advisor yet about studying abroad? If not, send them a quick email to get the conversation started and ask about the types of courses you may want to look for in a study abroad program based on the courses you have left to fulfill.
