China is, without a doubt, a major player in today's global economy. With business practices and relationships in China being very different from those commonly encountered in the US, a study abroad experience in China will give RIT students the extra edge that employers look for.
In 2015, RIT established a joint institute with Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) Weihai, offering an undergraduate business program in Management Information Systems (MIS). Located in the Shandong province on China's southeast coast and dubbed 'Garden City' in China, the coastal city of Weihai is famous for its excellent air quality, temperate climate, lush forests and picturesque islands.
Weihai is an international campus which offers foundation programs for international students from 20 countries. Total enrollment at the Weihai campus in 2017 was just over 1,000 students, with over 330 students enrolled in the joint Management Information System (MIS) program between RIT and BJTU.
The Weihai campus, newly constructed in 2015, includes dorms, dining facilities, modern classroom space, a well-stocked library and a sports center and is located approximately one hour from the city of Weihai and 40 minutes from the airport.
