Total of 10 teams presented business ideas ranging from running a student café, working with kindergarten children, developing app for all Dubrovnik based events to the winning business idea of a student game room
As a part of their Business I course, taught by Milena Kužnin, HTM students had to present their business idea in a 5 minutes pitch presentation form in front of the three judges, all RIT Croatia Alums: Karmen Kutnjak, class of 2002, currently working as the Director of Entrepreneurship Center of Dubrovnik Neretva region, Zvonko Čuljat, class of 2010, Founder & CEO of TERA BOT LLC and Stipe Milišić, class of 2004, owner and CEO of a family Hotel Marco Polo in Gradac and Heritage Hotel Nobile in Dubrovnik
The total of 10 teams presented their business ideas ranging from running a student café, working with kindergarten children, developing an app for all Dubrovnik based events to the winning business idea of a student game room (congratulations to the winning team Michael Coney, Dominik Lenz, Jozef Plumaj and Luka Mišković – the GEEK SQUAD).
The judges were impressed with students' presenting skills, their professionalism and service oriented thinking. Ms. Kutnjak, one of the judges, said that she was impressed with the variety of ideas ranging from going digital and giving back to the community to value added services. „This kind of a shift in the mindset is what the tourism sector needs", says Ms. Kutnjak.
„This is their first business presentation? I am impressed!" says Mr. Milišić and adds that he would like to see more enthusiasm in the future and even more „out of the box" business ideas.
„I hope the judges gave valuable feedback to the teams in pursuing their ideas to reality," says Mr. Čuljat who has served as the judge in two previous academic years as well.
