Regional Director of Independent Living Services, Boston Metro Region

The Regional Director manages Independent Living (IL) services in the region and provides support to IL staff. In addition to administrative and supervisory responsibilities, the Regional Director also provides IL services directly to consumers and provides education and/or advocacy as needed on issues relevant to the Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened community. The Regional Director works closely with the Assistant Director of IL to ensure smooth functioning of IL services in the region, and collaborates as needed with the other Regional Directors within the IL Department. The Regional Director plays an important role in leading and building the region’s IL team. The Regional Director supervises, supports, and mentors regional IL staffs to ensure core IL services are provided to consumers, including advocacy, peer counseling, information & referral, skills training, and support with achieving service goals. The Regional Director ensures that staffs adhere to program requirements and procedures and complete reports in a timely manner. This position is full time at 35 hours a week and has a flexible hybrid schedule of in office and remote.

-Bachelor’s degree in human services, or a related field and/or two years’ experience with Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened adults
- Fluency in American Sign Language and excellent written English.
- Prior supervisory experience
- Ability to maintain professionalism, demonstrate a good attitude, and team-build
- Ability to travel within the service area reliably and independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Awareness of issues facing Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened people
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, basic computer skills, and technology for communication.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Involvement with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in MA Experience providing group presentations and trainings
- Experience recording and editing vlogs
