The following RIT students have received a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for the 2023-24 Academic Year. The Gilman Scholarship Program broadens the student population that studies abroad by supporting undergraduates who might not otherwise participate due to financial constraints.  The program encourages students to study in a wide array of world regions, gain proficiency in diverse languages and cultures, and build critically important skills to enhance their academic and career development.

Andrew Le
Computer Science Major, Golisano College of Computing & Information Sciences
Andrew will study in Nagoya, Japan, in the fall of 2024 at Nanzan University through IES.

Qige Chen
Mechanical Engineering Major, Kate Gleason College of Engineering
Qige will study in Wurzburg, Germany, in the spring of 2024 at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wurzburg-Schweinfurt.

Aaliyah Fernandez
Human Centered Computing Major, Golisano College of Computing & Information Sciences
Aaliyah will study in Mittweida, Germany, in the summer of 2024 on the RIT Faculty-led Program Automotive Electronics in Germany program.

Libby Hubbard
International & Global Studies and Applied Modern Languages and Culture double major, College of Liberal Arts
Libby will study in Taipei, Taiwan, in the spring of 2024 on the Chinese Language and Asian Studies program through CIEE.

Ayla Laro
Nutritional Sciences Major, College of Health Sciences & Technology 
Alya will study in Costa Rica in the summer of 2024 on the Summer in Costa Rica program through CIS.

Adrienne Sanza
International & Global Studies and Applied Modern Languages and Culture double major, College of Liberal Arts
Adrienne was awarded the Gilman Critical Language Award to study at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, in the spring of 2024.

Evangelina Mack
International and Global Studies Major, College of Liberal Arts
Evangelina will study in Hong Kong in spring of 2025 on the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) exchange program.

Jaime Offeiokyne
Software Engineering Major, Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences
Jaime will study in Taiwan in spring/summer of 2024 on the RIT faculty-led program International Entrepreneurship - Chinese Language & Culture


Since the inception of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program in 2001, over 125,000 applications have been received, and over 33,000 scholarships have been awarded to students participating in study abroad programs and internships around the world.

The Gilman Scholarship is a program of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). ECA fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries to promote friendly, sympathetic, and peaceful relations.
